It’s funny how your instincts to ‘nest’ kick into overdrive when you’re pregnant! Whilst there are still several weeks before our lil bubs arrives, Ben and I’ve had a major overhaul of our teeny tiny flat. Not only did we need to make space for our soon to be cheeky-lil-monkey but we also wanted to make living in such a tiny space easier to manage on a general basis after our new arrival. So we sold, threw out, gave away loads of things we no longer used and replaced several furniture items for ones that offered a multi-usage function with loads of hidden storage spaces. And boy it feels GOOOOOD!
Now that the hard work of building, painting and rearranging is out of the way, the fun of re-styling our flat can begin. I’ve been drawn to bold graphics and prints of late, loads of white, grey and black in the colour palette with added pops of colour coming from plants and other objects. I’ve also been collecting various sized frames to create a feature wall in our living room (so many prints I’ve had for ages but never framed will finally get done) and been adding to my increasing number of soft lush blankets that I just love having around the flat in winter.
It’s also not long now till I go on maternity leave which means I will finally be able to get stuck into my long list of home projects I’ve been waiting to do for ages. One of the big ones is to actually set up and decorate lil bub’s nursery (which is essentially a corner of our bedroom), start on several sewing projects, get back into baking and of course enjoy all the upcoming Christmas festivities. I hope to blog some photos of our little flat once everything is finally in place and would love to know what you think. For now, I’ve collated a little moodboard of what you can expect, but until then have an awesome week ahead and thanks for stopping by!
